Sheet 03 · Clearances

Clearances for time, screens and sound

A clearance is the space a part needs to work without rubbing. Games need clearances too: enough minutes, the right screen and somewhere the sound will not annoy anyone.

Short span or long span

Under ten minutes
Fruit Party rounds end when the basket overflows, and Coin Picker challenges are brief by design.
Twenty to forty minutes
Fortune Match levels chain together comfortably for a single sitting at a desk.
Several visits
Arcade Tycoon builds slowly, and PLINKO! keeps progressing in a side tab while it stays open.

Some games are complete in five minutes and some only make sense across a week of visits. Neither is better, but choosing the wrong one for the time you have is how a quick break turns into a lost evening.

Phone clearances

Coin Picker is the strongest phone game on the schedule: it runs in portrait, every action fits under one thumb, and the listing flags it for iPhone and Android alike. Fruit Party and PLINKO! rotate happily and are flagged for both systems too.

On iPhone, Arcade Tycoon carries no compatibility flag, while Android does get one, and Fortune Match has no phone flag on either system. On a small screen we would leave both for later.

Tablets, Chromebooks and laptops

Tablets give the merge and peg games room to breathe; the basket in Fruit Party is far easier to aim at ten inches than at six. Chromebooks handle four of the five according to their listings, with Fortune Match the exception.

On a laptop or desktop every game on the schedule runs, and the two Unity titles, Fortune Match and Arcade Tycoon, feel noticeably smoother with a mouse than a trackpad.

Where progress is kept, and when it is not

  • These are online games: each one needs a working connection to load, and none of them is designed for offline play.
  • All five carry a cloud-save note on CrazyGames, so logging in there is how progress travels with you.
  • Playing as a guest keeps progress in that browser only. Clearing site data, using a private window or switching browsers can reset it.
  • Neostex never stores or sees your game progress.

Sound in shared spaces

PLINKO! chirps every time a ball lands and Fruit Party bounces along to a bright soundtrack, both lovely through headphones and less lovely on a quiet train. Every game on the schedule plays perfectly well muted, and most remember your volume choice within the session.

Battery and heat

Fortune Match and Arcade Tycoon, the two Unity builds, are hungrier for power than the HTML5 titles, and phones warm up during long sessions of either kind. Closing other tabs, dropping screen brightness a notch and plugging in for anything longer than half an hour will keep the device cooler and the battery healthier.

Idle games deserve a special mention: a game left running in a background tab keeps working the processor, so close it when you are genuinely finished rather than leaving it ticking over all afternoon.
